The project theorizes some crossing points between the linguistic, the behavioral and the spatial aspects of the social production of meaning. It plays with the dichotomy of visual absence/signifying presence versus visual presence/signifying absence in order to expose certain cultural and sub-cultural structures in their performative roles. The images present sites of spontaneous popular inscriptions, re-inscriptions and their modifications which have been deleted, presented solely by accentuated blank surfaces pointing to the empty sites of some missing discourses.

Biography

An artist from Belgrade, Milorad Mladenovic works largely with the traces of ephemeral urban histories. Mladenovic's architectural education brings critical knowledge to the work that he transposes vis-a-vis the city.
